M's Daily Skincare Routine for Face + Body
A couple of months ago I got my very first facial at Chillhouse and I have to say it was absolutely life-changing for my face. (seriously, not being dramatic at all!!) Not only was the facial so nourishing and relaxing, but my esthetician was so knowledgeable and gave me a whole new skincare routine that would work for me and I’ve been following it ever since.
***Shout out to Dihan from the LES location, you’re the best!!***
A little background on my skin:
I’ve always been extremely acne-prone due to having oily skin and a sweet tooth, so all I ever used to wash my face and body was Panoxyl, which contains a high percentage of Benzoyl Peroxide. BP is a rather strong medication that is used to reduce acne-causing bacteria and dries out your skin; therefore it’s not really recommended to use on places with a thin layer of skin, such as your face. This is something I was doing EVERY DAY, so you can only imagine how dehydrated my skin was the day I walked in to get my facial. SO here are the products I’m currently using that have made my face/skin GLOW, appearing healthier and hydrated!

FACE:
This gentle, lightweight cleanser contains soy proteins and removes all dirt and makeup. I normally use this cleanser with my Clarisonic Mia to ensure all unnecessary stuff is off my face and the supplements are locked in.
2. First Aid Beauty: Ultra Repair Wild Oat Hydrating Toner
After the use of a cleanser no matter how gentle it is our skin experiences dryness, which is what makes this the perfect toner. Its natural ingredients are proven to soothe and I always see an immediate difference.
3. Sunday Riley: C.E.O 15% Vitamin C Brightening Serum
MY HOLY GRAIL! Dihan from Chillhouse told me that the only Vitamin C serum that is effective is one that is in an enclosed/dark container because it can not have any outside light hitting it. This serum significantly changes the appearance of my skin, without making it feel oily.
4. First Aid Beauty: 5 in 1 Face Cream SPF 30
It’s so important to use SPF, I can not stress that enough. If you have oily skin, I recommend using either a face cream that already has SPF or only using sunscreen and no extra moisturizer so you do not over-saturate your face. Once applied, I also use a jade roller to be sure my skin intakes the moisture and increases circulation, giving me a more defined look.

BODY:
**Please note this is done in the shower, daily, in order to treat my back and chest acne**
As mentioned before, this is a very harsh cleanser, and if you have dry skin I would not recommend it, as it will cause a lot of irritation. I will say that this is the only cleanser that has actively helped me with my back and chest acne, so I make sure to moisturize as soon as I get out of the shower.
2. Drunk Elephant: Kamili Cream Body Cleanser
In order to remove the harsh particles from the Panoxyl, I wash my body with this much gentler body wash in order to give me some extra hydration! I wash using an Eco tools loofah sponge, which also helps with exfoliation and circulation.
3. Cetaphil: Moisturizing Lotion
Once I’m out of the shower, I pat dry my body and immediately apply lotion. I’ve found that Cetaphil is the best body moisturizer, especially for acne-prone skin because it’s super lightweight. I’m allergic to any fragrance lotions/creams so this one is just right!
I hope these tips can help some of you if you experience the same issues as I do! Let us know your fave skincare products in the comments below. x
